Prime Times Expo – Senior Energy Saver
Ameren Illinois: www.actonenergy.com From retirement savings strategies to physical fitness and interior design, the Prime Times Expo on Saturday aims to inform retirees – and those who hope to reach that stage of life soon. The event, sponsored by Humana and the Journal Star, runs from 9 am to 4 pm at the Civic Center with several informational sessions and entertainment acts scheduled to perform. “It’s geared toward the 50-plus crowd,” said Journal Star retail advertising manager Sue Patterson. “We’re making it fun. We’re making it informational.” Eight seminars that are 20 to 45 minutes apiece are scheduled for the day, though some run concurrently. Treatments for conditions commonly associated with advanced age, including varicose veins and fibromyalgia, will be the topics of some sessions, while others generally address physical fitness and the benefits of exercise. Topics of other sessions include retirement structures and insurance, as well as kitchen design concepts. Seminars begin at 10 am and continue on the hour, with the final sessions beginning at 1 pm Entertainment begins at 11 am with a roster that includes two performances by Royce Elliot and Friends and two bands. Joining comedian Elliot at 11 am and 1 pm will be Roger Monroe and Mike Dentino.
