Diet and Exercise Tips You Must Know

I hate to say it but the guy’s right. If you are like me and are going to you travel over the holidays and see friends and family that you hadn’t seen in a while (in my case 2-3 years).
Be honest. How many people do you think will be in better shape and leaner than the last time you saw them?
What will your friends and family think of you?
That’s a tough one to swallow. Will they look at you and say “Hmm..he/she has definitely put on some weight since the last time I saw him/her.”
Can we be honest for a second. Have you put on weight over the past year or so. 1-2lbs a year adds up. That means you could (I know many people that are) 20lbs heavier at 30 years old than they were when they were 20 years old
Yeah you could chalk it up to aging and a slowing metabolism but really those are more excuses than anything else. They are poor excuses that we feed ourselves to justify our weight gain.
In reality we aren’t exercising as much and are eating much worse than previously.
Are you with me? Good. Let’s look at the number 1 diet and exercise tip that acutally has nothing todo with diet or exercise.
Determine what you are missing out on by not losing 10 or 20lbs -Most people don’t want to think about this. What are you missing out on because you’re unhappy about your weight? I ask a similar, and powerful, question to my clients when they first join my weight loss coaching program – “What will you not experience if you don’t achieve your goals?”
Read that question again. Pull out a piece of paper and write down the answer. DO IT. In order to really change our bodies we need an emotional reason. What is your reason? The fastest way to find that reason is to honestly look at what you are missing out on curretly that you wouldn’t be if you lost 20lbs.
How is this going to help you with diet and exercise? Here’s the secret. The details of your diet and exercse plan don’t really matter if you don’t follow the plan. Sticking to your program or as success coach Brain Tracy says “Doing what you set out to do” is THE determing factor in your weight loss success. The best way to make sure that you stick to your plan it is to find an emtionally driven reason to change and keep that reason in the front of your mind at all times. Do this and there is no way that you an fail.
Do this and you will beat the average. You won’t gain weight as you age. Your friend and family will be amazed everytime they see you as you will be fitter and fitter.
